Sustainability at our core
With more than 10,000 miles of stunning coastline, Scotland’s coast and western islands are mesmerising. From secluded sea lochs to sheltered coves, wildlife watching, hill walking, wild swimming and the open Atlantic ocean, our coast has something for everyone.
Here at Stravaigin Sailing, we aim to keep these environments thriving for the future by respecting and protecting our planet and making it an integral part of our lives.
We also aim to educate others, from families to university and school groups on the importance of our threatened marine habitats.
Stravaigin strives to minimise her impact on the landscape harnessing wind, solar, and bio diesel. We are mindful of what we use at sea and take care in choosing eco-friendly products.
And we support our local communities, sourcing fresh food from local suppliers and services. Food that sustains and delights us should not come at a cost to our marine home. We leave beaches better than we found them with impromptu beach cleans and plastic recycling
The Stravaigin team aims to give back to the environment we live and work in, the people we engage with, and the communities we are a part of. We live permanently in our sailing area rather than visiting seasonally, enabling us to sail and protect our home waters.
Join us on a sustainable adventure aboard Stravaigin on Scotland’s west coast.

Our Commitment to Sustainability
We here at Stravaigin Sailing take sustainability very serious. We are very conscious of our place in the world, our interaction with the natural environment and our role within rural communities therefore we aim to sustain and support these whenever possible.
Through our education work, our commitment to sustainable tourism in delicate coastal and island communities and sourcing our supplies, it is important to us that we do what we can, using local produce whenever and wherever possible and supporting local business and employment.
